1P-LSD is a drug that mimics the lysergamide class and is a functional analogue of LSD. 1P LSD is short for 1-phenyl-LSD, also known as lysergamides, is an organic compound that was first created in Germany by Jansch and Mangel. It is often confused with the lesser-known Acid, despite the fact that the two chemicals have very little in common. Acid refers to a compound that has been modified in order to produce a more complex and dangerous substance while LSD refers to a substance that has not been specifically altered. 1P LSD is just another name for LSD.
There is not enough data to establish if 1P-LSD has the same toxicity and risk profile as LSD. It is considered a safer alternative to LSD. 
1P-LSD is not a brand name; it is simply a shortened name for LSD hydrochloride. The chemical itself is in a class of its own and is produced in laboratories using lab cultures, rather than in humans. 1P-LSD is a cousin of LSD that reportedly produces near-identical effects. Its unique properties have been proven by studies indicating that it can trigger serotonin binding in the brain. A study conducted on rats revealed that 1P-LSD is metabolized to LSD. This suggests that its near-identical effect profile is likely to occur.
While 1P-LSD only shows 38% potency in mice, it is detected via LC-MS in human serum. This study is being conducted to determine if 1P-LSD can be used to augment the effects of LSD in vivo.
Unlike other research chemicals, 1P-LSD has no known record even before it emerged in the market. Instead, it was marketed as a safer alternative to LSD. In 2019, it became a part of a group of molecules known as lyser glycosides.

1-Propionyl-d-lysergic acid diethylamide hemi-tartrate (1P-LSD) has been obtained as a “research chemical” for straws and powdered materials. This uncontrolled derivative of d-lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), belongs to the psychedelic class of the lysergamide class that is, a functional analog and derivative of LSD and a homolog to the ALD-52. 1P-LSD exhibits a partial agonist effect at the 5-HT2A receptor. Its effects are believed to originate from the activation of the 5-HT2A receptor’s central nervous system.
